Formerly known for its long history of logging, today Guerneville is a rustic community in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. Surrounded by healthy, verdant redwoods and the country’s top wine-tasting destinations, Guerneville's real estate sets itself apart with its simple, placid vibe and river-resort lifestyle.

Founded by the Guerne family in the 1850s, Guerneville has flourished into a tranquil and diverse area known for being very LGBTQ-friendly, even becoming a gay-friendly vacation destination that hosts an annual Sonoma County Pride Parade and Celebration each June. There are also several LGBTQ-friendly clubs and bars in the area.

Additionally, Guerneville is a bucolic and naturally beautiful place for outdoorsy types, especially those who want to get on the river. There are many access points for people to go kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and more.

Farm-to-table dining is alive and well in Guerneville with Boon Eat + Drink one of the best local restaurants for organic and seasonal Californian cuisine, plus local microbrews and wines. This hip and stylish restaurant is always bustling, people can’t get enough of the flash-fried Brussels with chili flakes and polenta lasagna.

BROT is a unique Guerneville establishment as a contemporary German restaurant serving delicious Bavarian classics in a warm atmosphere. To sate your sweet tooth, visit Chile Pies Baking Co. for one of their delicious butter crust pies topped with Nimble & Finns ice cream. Each pie is made from an original recipe.

The R3 Hotel, restaurant, bar, and nightclub is one of the area’s premier entertainment resorts in the lower Russian River area. This rustic village is close to the majestic redwoods and boasts a remarkably laid-back attitude. As an adult resort, you must be 21+ to enter (except the restaurant). With 23 guest rooms, a freestanding bar and lounge surrounded by a pool and sun decking, R3 creates an incredible refuge and luxurious getaway.

For more than 42 years, residents and visitors alike have celebrated the beautiful river-resort lifestyle of this Russian River community with the Russian River Jazz and Blues Festival. Hosted at the picturesque Johnson’s Beach, this long-standing event features an incredible array lineup each year. In the past, performers like the Doobie Brothers, The Neville Brothers, Etta James, and Buddy Guy have performed.
